The Internet Peace Prize (IPP) is awarded to individuals or organizations who contributed to humanity, world peace and the fulfillment of human rights through the internet, and/or who work to counter online and offline hate speech.
The Internet Peace Prize was established in 2018 by the Sunfull Foundation (Chairman: Byoung-chul Min) to recognize those who are working to counter online hate and to draw attention to these problems. Sunfull, which was started in 2007, is dedicated to countering hate speech, cyberbullying and human rights violations on the internet.
Read moreAnyone may submit a nomination for someone they believe has contributed to preventing or countering hate remarks, racial discrimination, human rights violations and hate crimes on the internet, or contributed to humanity, world peace, and the fulfillment of human rights.
All nominations that are submitted are reviewed by the Sunfull Foundation. Candidates that meet the requirements for the Internet Peace Prize, along with research on what the candidates are doing, is submitted to the Internet Peace Prize Award Committee, which determines the final candidate.
